Millions of emails are bounced regularly. Just imagine millions of people composing messages on a daily basis and 20-30% of those messages never reach to their destination email addresses. What a waste of time and effort it is. But, why does it happen? Is it happening on purpose or is there some issue with the message or email settings? Let us find out answers to all these questions today.

There are several factors involved in the problem of email getting bounced. It could be due internet related problem, wrong email address, network error and many more. We are now going to discuss all the possible reasons along with types of bounces in the next section.

Basically, there are two types of email bounces, one is soft bounce and another is a hard bounce. Let us discuss these two types of bounces one by one.

Soft Bounce

This temporary problem exists within the email address of the recipient. It may cause a delay in the delivery of emails to the receiver’s email address, but emails will reach eventually. The email is considered to be distorted if the period of delivery expires. The problem is quite common in every email service including RR email.

Hard Bounce

This bounce will not make the messages reach the destination. The delivery of emails to the recipient is always going to fail in the case of a hard bounce. You can’t send emails to the receiver because it’s email address will be removed from the database. Not many RR com Login email users face this problem, but those who have faced it in the past shared how frustrated the whole experience was.

Reasons for emails to bounce back into the sender’s inbox:

  • Invalid email entered while opt-in process: This mistake is made by the users’ end. They enter a wrong email address, thus resulting in an increase in the volume of emails. Entering an invalid email address is one of the most common reasons for email bounce error. To make sure that this doesn’t happen, double check the email address before sending the email.

  • Sender’s IP address has been blocked: There could very well be a chance that the IP address you are using is on the list of blacklisted IPs. If you have sent spam or objectionable emails to your contacts, then the concerned authorities may have banned your IP address.

  • Email blocked by server: The server at the receiver’s end may have blocked your emails due to several reasons such as spam emails, oversize emails, wrong file format and so on. You need to check whether the images and text format you have chosen are correct and don’t make the email heavy.

  • Service unavailable or overload error: Even the best server can’t sometimes falter, and may experience issues related to space and storage. If there is an unusual amount of traffic at the receiver end, then the email will be bounced back, but it’ll be a soft bounce.

  • Receiving ‘Mailbox full’ message: If the inbox is full of emails, then you will experience is sending and receiving emails. So, you will have to remove a few emails to make up some space.

  • Emails blocked by recipient: If your emails have been blocked by one of your contacts, then sending emails to the same contact will result in bouncing back of emails.

  • Auto-responder activated by the recipient: Turning on auto-responder is a good habit when you are not around to respond to emails, but at times, an auto-responder keeps on sending emails even when it has been turned off.
